Software developers, which of these sites do you use to stay up to date about programming tools and techniques?
Really interesting results. I'd say Hacker News and LinkedIn.
@evan it’s sad actually. HN can be interesting in small doses but LI is primarily vacuous boosterism. When I was learning Java and Objective C I confess SO was really helpful. I think most new devs are using Copilot now in the same way: copy and paste without understanding the semantics.
@swart I find LinkedIn good for announcements of new commercial products and discussions thereof.
@evan sorry I shouldn't have been so negative about LI. It's changed a lot over the years. I've mostly been interested in open source projects but those are hard to keep up with now.
