@alessandro @Paulatics the govt should be cautious about putting a critical communications dependency in the hands of private Canadian citizens and companies, let alone putting it under the control of US private interest.

@johnefrancis @alessandro @Paulatics Please learn from our fail. When Covid hit in 2020, Australia government didn't know what to do because we lacked infrastructure to allow communicating domestically that's not owned by a US tech giant. Then Facebook threatened to lock Australia out because they didn't want to pay for the news they stolen from other media. Australia essentially didn't have any alternatives except to roll over.
