So, here is what I'm trying to do to #BuildTheSocialWeb.
1. Servicing the issue queue for ActivityPub and Activity Stream 2.0 on GitHub on a weekly basis.
2. Documenting patterns in the Activity Streams 2.0 primer, and hopefully doing the same for ActivityPub.
3. Sharing architectural essays on my blog. I've got two lined up: end-to-end encryption and account portability.
4. Building https://cosocial.ca/ .
5. Expressing myself here. Bringing people here.
Some things I'd like to expand:
6. Documenting our experience at Cosocial making a coop.
7. Helping the AP/AS2 extension-writing process.
8. Getting the SWICG back to regular meetings.
9. Bringing https://identi.ca/ into the social web by implementing ActivityPub.
10. Setting up a Mastodon server for my team at Open Earth Foundation. https://social.openearth.org/
11. Documenting the HCI research I did on making Mastodon a good way to connect with friends. https://wp.me/pRlvU-jW
Mostly, I'd like to do what I can to unblock the incredible developer energy happening in this network.
I think that's the way I can be most helpful and where my limited time can go to greatest effect.
After that, making federated software, and having my social life here.
I have a full-time job fighting climate change, am in graduate school for CS, and have a family with two teen kids that I really want to see.
But I love this network and want it to succeed.
