“Prime Minister #MarkCarney wasted little time in removing a potent point of attack for the Conservatives in recent years: the consumer carbon tax.”

@GottaLaff Politically-wise, not necessarily environmentally friendly. However, I trust Carney to deliver for Canadians.
@CanadianCrone I JUST said that to someone. PP has ads out tying Carney to the carbon tax, a really vile ad. This nullifies it. So politically, yes.
Yep. It’s a good political move. PP made decent environmental policy politically toxic, and even gave Carney a childish nickname: “carbon tax Carney.” So now, if he keeps banging on about carbon tax, he just looks like an idiot. Conservatives don’t want any climate policies.
Carney has environmental bona fides, so he will create replacement climate policy, I’m sure. But ending toxic policies early is smart, IMO.
Snowshadow shared this article last week. It’s a quick read, but it tells you a lot about Carney’s character and integrity. And his commitment to climate policy.

@KimberlyN @Scienceisnotopinions if you want to know more, his book Values is a good insight, and his talks at the Reith Lectures are very interesting, not just about environmental issues, but about capitalism itself. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000py8t
@KimberlyN Thanks! I will boost this for everyone to see.
