Things being as they are, I'm looking to move my blogs/personal site from Squarespace. I've been with SS for a long time, but I don't use most of their features, so I suppose this has been a long time coming.

I would consider European services, but again, things being what they are, Canadian would be ideal. Any recommendations?

'Why us?': Disbelief in Saint-Pierre and Miquelon over Trump tariff

Donald Trump has placed #tariffs on island nations around the world, but Steve Le Bars says he was surprised to see his home of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, the small French territory off #Newfoundland, slapped with a heavy tariff. He says many of the island’s 6,000 residents are dumbfounded by the decision.

One of the features I really like that differentiates Sync from OneDrive, Google Drive or Dropbox is their use of "zero-knowledge" authentication: they don't store your encryption key and cannot decrypt your files without your knowledge.

This policy does add some processing overhead. Years ago, I sometimes found file synchronization slow. But these days, I find it works transparently in the background as it should.

Looking for a Canadian-based cloud storage provider? Try Sync.com.

They are currently running a discount on their Canadian Cloud Storage.

I've used their Windows app for 10 years, and it is reliable and secure.

They have a Mac app now, and recently introduced Team features, but I've not tried either of those. There is no Linux app.

Aside from being a customer, I have no business or personal affiliation with them.

Currently trying out Lunatask, a Todoist alternative developed in Europe and using end-to-end encryption for your cloud data.

I haven't been able to find any Todoist alternative hosted in Canada.

I've also got a support email out to GoTodo to ask about their sync, but I assume it's not e2e encrypted or they would have mentioned it in the features. Also, it's probably US-based storage.

We need a new fridge for a while and now another piece broke. Just ordered one from a small independent store in town and it’s a Danby which is Canadian too. Guy in the store showed us pricing that they received from brands because of the tariffs. Ouch. #BuyCanadian
