@social please don't shut this service down. We need Mozilla in the Fediverse. There is a great opportunity for Mozilla to shape the path of the social web. I think it's a better social network with Mozilla here.

I don't understand what the Mozilla Social Team is. Is it a Mastodon instance hosted by Mozilla, or is it a team with a certain research and development goals and a roadmap?

@Evan Prodromou On that article you mentioned, the "20% of users voted this helpful" is interesting. Apparently 80% of people who rated that article did not find the announcement helpful. Interpret as you will.

There is no much explanation on why they decided to shut down their service. The launch announcement was unclear on the purpose, and also this shutdown announcement. They said this was an experiment, so they are downplaying the relevance of the Fediverse.
