@nyquildotorg @mce @funbaker I also, selfishly, want to protect my reputation. When someone goes to one of my posts and sees a racist image in a reply, with no repercussions, they're going to think I'm OK with that. Right now, I have to reply "This is unacceptable" or something similar.
@evan @nyquildotorg @mce @funbaker People aren't going to assume you are OK with it. Least I don't believe so. When I come across people like that, I block. Engaging with them is wasted effort. I think people will assume you blocked them over arguing with racists.
@ang6666 @evan @nyquildotorg @mce @funbaker its easy to say that for something more overt like racism, but the same problem applies to scamming and misinformation generally. Someone replying to a thread by Evan could pretend to be an expert in activitypub and point people at a scam contract work site or a pay-walled fake w3c docs site or something. If Evan doesn't see it or block it otherwise, people may assume he is ok with it or involved until its too late.
@evan @nyquildotorg @mce @funbaker That right there, short and sweet, should tell your readers what you think, and showing others who the asshole is.
