The one thing I really loved about the Google Reader story on The Verge was how much the Reader team believed in multimedia content.

It's one thing I think we got right with Activity Streams 2.0. Not only can we represent a wide variety of media, like text, audio, still images, and videos, but it's an extensible framework, so other kinds of experiences can go into the same stream.
