In this 5th year of Covid my wife will once again be nurse double shifting both Christmas and New Years due to staff illness & disease breakout among residents requiring more nurses to adequately care. All the while her employer restricting PPE AND demanding less overtime due to 'costs'

There’s a lot to be angry about here…but what struck me first was…restricting PPE. In a healthcare setting? What the hell is wrong with people? Staggering disconnect indeed.
@KimberlyN the recent management complaining about overtime, as if burnt out nurses are actually seeking that - no, they are doing their jobs, covering for sick colleagues because they care for the residents/patients they see every day
then again, she will get almost a month regular pay working doubles over 2 days, plus the extra hours and stat bonus
I want to see the face of the LTC payroll manager signing off on her (and others) Jan 2nd paycheck - bastards
